As we are in the thick of winter we can’t help but feel the change in the air physically now. Your mornings are getting a little more brisk, and the sun is setting earlier and earlier which can mean we  feel a few more aches and pains than in the summer, warmer months and climates.

Keep Warm

It’s an obvious one but…it works! Stay warm and make sure you have that extra payer of clothing for those frosty mornings and chilly evenings. Often our bodies become confused with a lot of sudden changed of temperature which can result in more aches and pains physically. If your body is warm, your muscles will be less likely to tense or spasm, and your bones will not ache as much.

Hydrate
You may naturally feel thirsty in hot weather but it’s key to make sure your hydration levels in cold weather are good as it’s easier to forget about drinking as much. When your body gets dehydrated it can make you experience muscle cramps and more soreness in general. Also, try to avoid over-loading on caffeine as this can slow down blood flow around the body leading to possible cramps and soreness in muscles.

Regular Massage
Well, obviously I’m a big fan of this one. Therapeutic massage is a wonderful way to warm your body and help relieve any muscle or joint pain brought on by the change in the season and keep your body, muscles and joints moving!
